Know India Program (KIP)


The Government of India will organize 45th& 46thKnow India Program (KIP) in early 2018 with participation of 40 overseas Indians in each programme.  KIP is a flagship program of the Ministry of External Affairs for engagement of Indian origin youth (between 18-30 years) to enhance their awareness about India, its cultural heritage, art and to familiarize them with various aspects of contemporary India. The program has been in existence since 2003.

The last date of the registration by applicants is 19 November 2017.  The shortlisted participants will be contacted by the Consulate General of India, Toronto. Other details of the program are available at www.kip.gov.in.

 

Salient points of the program:

 

·        

This programme is open to youth of Indian origin (excluding non-resident Indians).

 

·        

The participants are provided local hospitality e.g. boarding/lodging in budget hotels and internal transportation in India.

 

·        

Indian Missions/ Posts abroad will arrange return air tickets to India for participants. 10% of the total air fare willbe borne by selected applicants.

 

·        

Applicants must provide his/her OCI/PIO card details or that of his parents, grandparents or great grandparents.

 

·        

Minimum qualification required for participating in KIP is graduation from a recognized University/Institute or enrollment for graduation; knowledge of English is essential.  Candidates will be required to show documents for verification.

 

·        

Applicantswho have already participated in any KIP or Internship Program for Diaspora Youth (IPDY), Study India Program of MEA or any other programme organized and paid for by the Ministry of External Affairs or any other Ministry/Department of the Government of India or a State Government in Indiaare noteligible.

 

All KIP participants will berequired to obtain an international travel and medical insurance policy for their visit to India.
